Welcome to The 2nd International Conference on Hazard Mitigation

in Geographic and Education Perspectives (ICHMGEP)
Organized by:
Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
September 11-12, 2020

BACKGROUND

Disasters are unavoidable environmental events which may cause lost of life, infrastructure destruction, environmental damage, and unstable economic condition. Although its occurrence is difficult to know, their signs and causes can be investigated scientifically. Therefore, a disaster management is required and must become our concern. The disaster management needs to be reinforced by performing a comprehensive study, research, and knowledge sharing. This reinforcement is expected to provide outcomes which could enhance the resilience and risk reduction for the people to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. To address this issue, Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Indonesia in collaboration with Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) Malaysia, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) Indonesia, and Ikatan Geograf Indonesia (Indonesian Geographical Society) will hold The 2nd International Conference on Hazard Mitigation in Geographic and Education Perspectives 2020 (The 2nd ICHMGEP) on "Disaster Management for Enhancing Resilience, Risk Reduction and Sustainable Development Goals". This conference continues the tradition of the scientific meeting (The 1st ICHMGEP) held in 2018 which succesfully gathered hundred of participants and published conference papers in an international publication outlet. The 2nd ICHMGEP 2020 provides a platform for researchers, lecturers, students, practitioners, scientists to showcase their latest findings in the areas of expertise which include geoscience, environmental, science and technology innovation, mapping and technology innovation etc. Also, It aims at disseminating original research results, new ideas, innovations, practical experiments to promote the advancement of science and achieve sustainable development goals.
