He work on Program Director - INOVASI for Indonesian School Children (Indonesia - Australia DFAT partnership). He is an international education consultant, specializing in the management and governance of basic education in Indonesia. He has worked for over twenty years in the field of education in Indonesia, along the way conducting small consultancies in Timor Leste, Thailand, and Vietnam.
He is Associate Professor of Sociology at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He also headed the Department of Malay Studies at NUS from 2007 to 2013. He lectured at the University of Malaya in the Department of Southeast Asian Studies prior to joining NUS. His areas of interst are the sociology of Islam, social theory, religion and reform, and intra- and inter- religious dialogue. His most recent books are Ibn Khaldun (Oxford University Press, 2013 and Applying Ibn Khaldun (Routledge, 2014). He is currently researching of Salafism in the Malay world.
Prof. Peter Carey, who is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Indonesia, is the co-founder of the Cambodia Trust, a UK registered charity with the vision of equal rights for disabled people in an inclusive barrier-free society. Prof Carey was Laithwaite Fellow and Tutor in Modern History at the University of Oxford’s Trinity College from 1979 until his retirement in 2008.
Prof. Dr. S. Hamid Hasan is Professor of Education of Social Science (Pendidikan Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial) Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Bandung. His areas of intersert is historical education and curriculum.
Prof. Dr, Ajat Sudrajat is the Dean of Faculty of Social Science Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. He also lectured at Department of History Education. His areas of interst are philosophy of history and history of thought.
